  • Land Expansion: Making Space for Growth and Stability

The current orphanage compound at Jésus le Bon Berger has reached its physical limits. There is no available space within the existing structure to build essential facilities such as a kitchen or a well—both of which are critical for the daily health, safety, and dignity of the children. The adjacent lot, located directly next to the orphanage, provides the only viable opportunity to expand the compound in a safe and sustainable way.

Securing this land will allow JJME to construct a dedicated kitchen, ensuring meals can be prepared in a clean, protected environment rather than over an open fire. It will also create room for a permanent well, offering reliable access to clean water—a foundational need for every child we serve. This expansion is not about growth for the sake of growth; it is about creating the space necessary to meet the most basic needs of the children with consistency, safety, and dignity.

We move forward trusting that God will provide the resources needed to secure this land so the orphanage can continue to grow into a place of stability, opportunity, and hope.

  • Clean Water Well: Providing Safe, Reliable Water

Reliable access to clean water is one of the most urgent needs at Jésus le Bon Berger Orphanage. Currently, the children depend on rainwater that is caught from the rusting sheet-metal roof and stored in an underground space. This method poses significant safety concerns: not only does the deteriorating roof introduce contaminants into the water, but there is no filtration system in place to make the stored water safe for drinking, cooking, or daily use.

A dedicated well will provide the children with consistent access to clean, safe water—something no child should live without. Constructing a well is essential for their health, hygiene, and overall wellbeing, and it will dramatically improve daily life at the orphanage. By securing the adjacent land and building this well, we can replace uncertainty and risk with stability, safety, and dignity.

We trust that God will provide the means to meet this vital need, ensuring the children have access to the clean water they deserve.

  • Health Care & Health Education Partnerships

As we look to the future, JJME is seeking to partner with like-minded organizations to strengthen and expand the health care resources available to the children at Jésus le Bon Berger Orphanage. Access to reliable medical care and ongoing health education is essential to their long-term wellbeing. By linking arms with trusted partners, we aim to provide improved medical support, preventative care, and age-appropriate health education that empowers each child to make informed decisions in their best interest.

Our desire is for every child to understand their body, recognize signs of illness, and feel confident advocating for their health. These partnerships will help ensure that the children are not only cared for today, but also equipped with the knowledge and skills they need for a healthier, more secure future. We move forward prayerfully, trusting God to provide the right partners and resources to meet these vital needs.

  • University Partnerships & Technical Skills Training

For children growing up without parents, the transition from childhood into young adulthood can feel overwhelmingly uncertain. Navigating education, career choices, and the responsibilities of adulthood is challenging even with strong support systems—without them, it can seem nearly impossible. At JJME, we believe every child deserves the guidance, opportunity, and preparation needed to step confidently into a stable, self-sufficient future.

To help the children of Jésus le Bon Berger Orphanage become productive members of society who can provide for themselves and their future families, we are actively seeking partnerships with universities, vocational institutes, and technical training programs. Our goal is to equip each young person with practical skills, career direction, and educational pathways that align with their strengths and interests. Whether through university-level studies, trade development, apprenticeships, or specialized training, we are committed to opening doors that would otherwise remain closed.

We trust that God will provide the right partnerships and opportunities to empower these children to build meaningful futures—marked by dignity, independence, and hope.

  • It costs a minimum of $7,500 each year to provide the current children with consistent nutrition, clothing, education, and essential daily care. This is our baseline care budget—the foundational amount required to ensure that every child is fed, clothed, and able to attend school. These are not extra projects or expansions; this is simply what it takes to sustain their daily wellbeing.
