Our Story
On the tiny island of Key West, Florida, the Lord used military orders to divinely connect two families—the Alabis and the Bozarths. Unbeknownst to any of us at the time, God had already been at work behind the scenes, weaving together shared dreams of adoption and a deep calling to love and serve orphaned children. Through His perfect orchestration on Naval Air Station Key West, a Navy family and a Marine family joined arms in faith and committed to follow wherever God would lead.
We chose to trust that God’s ways were better than our own and that His plans would bring far greater blessings than anything we could imagine. With nervous but obedient steps into the unknown, we said yes—without knowing what the journey would hold, yet confident in Who was leading us.
In 2023, that “yes” took Rebecca and Drew to Togo for the first time. It was during this life-changing trip that the reality of the need became impossible to ignore. We witnessed firsthand the vulnerability of children living without consistent access to food, education, medical care, and safe shelter—and God made it clear that we were not to look away.
What began as a shared conviction quickly became a living mission. In 2024, Jehovah Jireh Mission Empowered became a fully registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Since then, God has faithfully provided—bringing new partnerships, donors, friendships, and opportunities for community building that we never could have orchestrated on our own.
We often say our job is simply to show up and let God show out—and time and time again, He has proven Himself a loving, faithful Father. Through every open door and every new relationship, He continues to remind us that this work is His.
Today, JJME exists because two families said yes to God’s call—and because of that obedience, countless children now have hope for a different future. We are deeply grateful for all the Lord has done, and we eagerly await what Jesus will do next.
