Rebecca’s heart has always belonged to children — all children. She firmly believes that every child is a masterpiece, created intentionally by God. Her journey into humanitarian work began after witnessing a heartbreaking refugee crisis in a developing country, where families risked everything simply for the chance to work, feed their children, and live in safety. Standing in the tension of desperation and hope, Rebecca felt God stir her heart. Lukewarm faith was no longer an option; she knew she was being called not just to care from afar, but to go, see, and serve with her whole heart.

Following that calling, Rebecca and her husband stepped into a winding, God-orchestrated journey full of divine appointments, unexpected connections, and unmistakable purpose. That journey ultimately led them to West Africa, where Rebecca now holds one of the greatest honors of her life: being called “Maman” by 32 orphaned children at Jesus the Good Shepherd Orphanage in Tsévié, Togo.

While Rebecca’s work is grounded in compassion, her approach is strengthened by over 15 years of professional experience in education. She holds three degrees in the field, including an Education Specialist degree (Ed.S.) from the University of Virginia, where her advanced studies explored innovation within educational and social spheres. Her extensive, understanding of child development enables her to recognize the universal needs of children, while her study of how meaningful social change occurs broadened her insight into how systems, narratives, and access shape a child’s long-term opportunities and outcomes.

This blend of heart and expertise shapes her leadership at Jehovah Jireh Mission Empowered. Rebecca approaches every decision through a child-centered lens — considering not only immediate needs but long-term wellbeing, opportunities for growth, and pathways to independence. Her educational background strengthens her ability to advocate for structural improvements, sustainable programming, and culturally responsive supports that empower each child to flourish.

But above all, Rebecca’s work flows from a simple, steadfast conviction: God sees, loves, and has a purpose for every child. And little by little, through faith and service, she is committed to helping build a future where the children of Togo can grow, thrive, and step confidently into the lives God has created for them.
